How to stop SMS notifiacation for Gmail

Here I have described how to stop automatic SMS notification for you Gmail mailbox(If you have set it up by my method or any other method)

After I have written my first blog on how to set up automatic SMS notification for your gmail mailbox I received some communication (obviously my first readers were the ones directly in contact with me so you wont see them in comments) asking how to stop the notification. I know techies will be laughing their stomach out at this, but still it may prove to be a great problem for common people.

So, I will address the same problem over here.

Method 1: Simple, pull the plug

I you want to get rid of this completely and in near future you do not wish to re-initiate the SMS notification again the simply delete the file containing the code.

1.First go to :
https://drive.google.com
and sign in if prompted

2.

  • If you have set it up using my steps as described in my previous blog then you will find a file name "Copy of Gmail Notifier" OR "Copy of Gmail Notifier(priority inbox)" in your "My Drive" or in some other folder if you have moved it.
  • Right click on it and click on "Remove"

OR

  • If you have set it up using steps as described in some other site then search My Drive for the required file. The file may be some worksheet document or some script document given some relevant name or otherwise, find it some how.
  • Right click on it and click on "Remove"

Now you are free!!!

Note: If you change your mind again and want to start SMS notification again then follow all the steps of my previous post from beginning(again, simple).

Method 2: Turn if off

If you want to temporarily shut it down and turn it on later when you desire, then go ahead:
